Welcome to Global II Honors
This course is designed as a survey of world history and culture from 1500's to the
present. Emphasis will be placed on the following: a global view of the world’s history,
history’s relevance to the present, and an appreciation of the universality and diversity of the
human race. Students will make judgments on events in history, as well as learn to
recognize historical bias. Students will write persuasive and analytical essays and
speeches. They will also use writing to compare and contrast people and events in
history. Students will be required to read approximately 100- 200 + pages of outside
reading per quarter. Students will conduct independent research and will be responsible
for guided and independent learning. Students will also apply creativity to historical
concepts. This course will challenge you and provide many rewarding experiences

in case you have found this site and are in my Global II classes for the 2014-15 school year, here is a list of the supplies you will need to have with you in class each day:
- A binder (loose-leaf.) A 1-2 inch binder for just my class. we take lots of notes and you will not be able to fit all you global notes and readings in a binder that is shared with another class.
- Plenty of loose-leaf paper.
- Several black and blue pens.
- Folder: there will be lots of handouts and readings
- A highlighter (any color, as long as it's a highlighter.)
